Importing a SAP Logon folder into a KeePass group.

Install in four steps

  1. Download SAPAutoLogon.dll from Releases.
  2. Copy it into the KeePass Plugins folder. C:\Program Files\KeePass Password Safe 2\Plugins
  3. Restart KeePass.
  4. The SAP GUI and Business Client columns appear in the entry list.

Remove any older SAP launch plugin first, or both load.

Fill, import, launch

Type the fields yourself

Manual is the default. Fill in the connection fields by hand, with a status line that says when the entry is ready to launch.

The SAP tab of the KeePass Edit Entry dialog in Manual mode, with fields for system ID, client, language, application server, system number, message server, port, group, SAProuter string, SNC name, SNC level and transaction, and the status Ready to launch.

Fill from SAP Logon

On the SAP tab choose Automatic, search your list and click a system. Every field stays editable.

The SAP tab of the KeePass Edit Entry dialog in Automatic mode: the search box holds Demo1, one system is listed, and the fields below are filled with system ID DEV, client 100 and language EN.

Import a whole folder

Right-click a group and choose Import from SAP Logon, then pick a SAP Logon folder. Subfolders become groups, systems become entries.

The KeePass group right-click menu: Add Group, Edit Group, Delete Group, Rearrange, Find in This Group, Search Profiles, Import from SAP Logon with the SAP icon, and More Commands.
The Import from SAP Logon window: a header with the SAP logo, a search box, a tree of SAP Logon folders with system counts, the option Set user name for imported entries, and the Import and Cancel buttons.

Launch from the entry list

Double-click a Click-To-Open cell, or use the right-click menu.

The KeePass main window after an import: nested groups on the left, and the entry Demo1 with the SAP icon showing Click-To-Open in the Business Client and SAP GUI columns.

Sensible defaults

When SAP Logon stores none, client and language are filled in.

Read only

SAP Logon files and the registry are never changed.

Plain string fields

The values are normal entry fields, so the database stays readable without the plugin.

Fields it writes

An entry launches with a system ID, a client and either a server and instance number, or a message server and group.

Before you save

  • Saving is yours

An import changes the database in memory. Save it, or close without saving.

  • No undo

KeePass has no undo. Existing entries are never changed, but review the result first.

  • User name only

The default user name sits in plain text in KeePass.config.xml. Never enter a password there.

  • Password on the command line

sapshcut -pw passes the password on the command line while SAP GUI starts.

Get SAPAutoLogon

Copy the DLL, restart KeePass and open the SAP tab of any entry.
